Storeroom - an island charity dedicated to helping island people - the Isle of Wight's leading furniture re-use charity.
Winners of the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service, June 2017, the MBE for Volunteer Groups.
Every year Storeroom2010 helps the local island community to save thousands of kgs of furniture and household items from landfill by the promotion of furniture re-use (nearly 170,500kgs in 2016).
Storeroom often accepts items that other charities have refused, as we are not looking for perfection or maximum profit, but simply to provide a reasonably priced option for those who need serviceable furniture.
In addition to our recycling initiatives Storeroom2010 also provides volunteer opportunities, community placements and work experience to those seeking a route to employment; enabling the building of confidence and providing support with seeking paid employment.
Thanks to grant funding from various sources both on and off the Isle of Wight, Storeroom Education also offers FREE trades based training to unemployed local people.
We are a NOCN Centre, number 30000877, and currently offer a variety of accredited practical courses, mostly for the building trades with Health & Safety at Work and First Aid options too.Additionally Storeroom Education offer various low cost activities and life skills courses.
PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR OPENING DAYS/HOURS ARE TUESDAY TO SATURDAY, 10AM - 4PM. THANK YOU.
